Mary’s Workshop
Situated in our community making space, Mary’s Workshop is a dedicated woodworking unit available to makers from a marginalised gender.
Sylva Foundation provides the workspace for women, trans, and non-binary makers, equipped with workbenches, an M-class vacuum, drill and driver and a set of quality hand tools. Machine shop access is available for £80 per person per calendar month, once a machine induction has been completed. Please note that access is restricted to business hours due to the location of our site.
Our resident makers are a welcoming, vibrant community of early-career and established furniture makers. We welcome all project proposals. The space can be shared between several makers or groups if feasible.
Teaching Barn
We have a well-equipped Community Space for Hire. Host group sessions, meetings, or community projects in our well-equipped teaching barn. The space hosts a kitchen, accessible toilet and workbenches and is equipped with basic woodworking machines (i.e. bandsaw and sander). All enquiries supporting marginalised communities are welcome.
